Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and enlacey when you use the app. Providers have their own terms as well.
1. Who you are dealing with
enlacey is run by one individual — the founder, Naman Gururani, of Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India. There is no company behind it.
2. What enlacey is — and is not
enlacey introduces you to people who do work: cooks, cleaners, electricians, plumbers and others. That is all it does.
- We do not do the work. The provider does. The agreement about the work, the price and the timing is between you and the provider.
- Providers are not our employees, agents or partners. They are self-employed people who choose their own jobs and set their own prices.
- We do not guarantee the result of any job. We verify identity as described below and we help when things go wrong, but we cannot promise that a job will be done well.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a contract under Indian law. enlacey is meant for people in and around Haldwani. One account per phone number. Don't use someone else's identity.
4. Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code sent over SMS. Keep your phone and your SIM secure — anyone with your number and the code can reach your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else got in. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account; see enlacey.com/delete-account.
5. It is free — and no money moves through the app
At launch, enlacey is free for everyone. We charge no platform fee, no commission and no subscription — to customers or to providers. And no money passes through enlacey: you pay the provider directly, in cash or by UPI, exactly as you would if a neighbour had introduced you.
- The price is what you and the provider agree. We do not set it and do not collect it.
- After the job you can record in the app that you paid, so both sides have the same history. Recording is a note — it does not move any money.
- Because we hold no money, we cannot charge you and cannot refund you. See Cancellation & refunds.
- If we ever start charging a fee or handling payments, we will publish new terms and ask for your agreement before it applies to you. Nothing here lets us start charging silently.
6. How a booking works
- You post a job, or you browse providers and pick one.
- Providers you match with are notified; one accepts, and a booking is created.
- When a provider accepts, they see your exact address and can chat with you. Until then they see only the area.
- The provider starts the work (they check in with a selfie so you know they arrived), then it is marked complete.
- You pay the provider directly, and both of you can rate each other.
Cancelling. You or the provider can cancel any time before the work is complete — from the booking screen. enlacey charges nothing for it. But cancelling late, or not being there, wastes someone's day; repeated no-shows can get an account suspended. Details: Cancellation & refunds.
7. Verification — what a badge means
A badge on a provider means we did a specific check, and nothing more.
ID verified
Someone from enlacey has seen this person's government ID and matched it to their face. At launch this is done in person, in Haldwani, by the founder.
Background checked
A background or credential check was completed and the result recorded. This is mandatory for anyone listing in Care & Health (nursing, elderly care, child care) — nobody lists there without it.
Verified Pro
Awarded by enlacey after we have checked the person's skills or experience ourselves — for example a nurse's hospital employment and registration. Only enlacey awards this badge; a provider cannot claim it.
Care & Health is open, and every provider listed there has passed a background/credential check — without one, nobody appears in that category at all. No badge is a promise about someone's future behaviour — meet in a safe place, use your judgement, and tell us if something feels wrong.
8. What you must not do
- Ask for anything illegal, unsafe, or work that a licence you don't have is needed for.
- Hire anyone under 18, or ask a provider to bring one.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone — by caste, religion, gender, region, disability or anything else. This is the one rule we remove accounts for without warning.
- Write fake or paid-for reviews, or pressure someone into changing one.
- Use a provider's contact details or address for anything other than the job — no marketing, no selling on, no adding them to lists.
- Impersonate someone, or use someone else's ID document.
- Scrape the app, hammer the API, or try to break into any part of it.
9. What you write and upload
Your job descriptions, photos, messages and reviews stay yours. By putting them in the app you allow us to store them and show them to the people who need to see them — the other party in your booking, and, for reviews, other users of the app.
Reviews must be honest and about your own experience. We do not delete a bad review because someone dislikes it; we do remove content that is abusive, fraudulent, contains someone's private details, or is plainly not about a real booking.
10. Safety, reporting and blocking
- Every booking has Report a problem. It reaches our Haldwani team, who read every report and usually call you back the same day.
- If you do not want to be matched with someone again, tell us and we will make sure you are not.
- If someone is in danger, call the police on 112 first. Then tell us.
- We can suspend or remove an account for behaviour that puts anyone at risk, without notice.
11. Ending it
You can stop using enlacey and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to defraud someone, or that we are required by law to close. If we close yours, we will tell you why by email or in the app, and you can reply to privacy@enlacey.com — we answer appeals within 7 days.
12. Our responsibility, and its limits
We run enlacey carefully and honestly, but it is a free introduction service run by one person. So, to the extent Indian law allows:
- We are not responsible for the work itself — its quality, its timing, damage caused while doing it, or anything a provider or a customer does. That is between the two of you, and we will help you sort it out.
- We do not promise the app will always be available or error-free. It may be down for maintenance, or a match may not be found.
- We are not liable for indirect losses — lost income, lost opportunity, or the cost of arranging things another way.
- Where we are liable despite the above, our total liability to you is limited to ₹1,000. That figure is low because enlacey takes no money from you at all; if we ever start charging, this limit will be rewritten before then.
Nothing here limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for anything that cannot be excluded under Indian law — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top change, the new text is published here, and for anything material the app asks you to agree again before it applies to you.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of India. Talk to us first — privacy@enlacey.com — because almost everything is solved that way. If it cannot be, the courts at Haldwani, Nainital district, Uttarakhand will have jurisdiction. This does not take away any right you have to go to a consumer forum where you live.
